In January 2000, Paul and I took an eight-day vacation to Arizona, where I was reunited with my second cousin, MaryEllen Simmons. Our time there was too brief to see all that we should have seen, but we got to do the important things: meet MaryEllen's family and see the Grand Canyon! Our time with her family, her sister Roseann's family, and her mother (my mother's cousin) Ellen was most enjoyable and I felt right at home the minute I got to her house. I had heard much about her family and felt like I knew most of them.
We got to see much more than the Grand Canyon, of course, and were especially impressed by the beautiful mountains and rock formations! We saw Superstition Mountain, the Red Rocks of Sedona, the Phoenix Zoo, and much more. We took many pictures of the area, which are neatly tucked into an album which I look at often.
